Ventana Hodgepodge Longboard 9’0″

The Hodgepodge Longboard is a performance work of nose-riding art. This gorgeous board was a special commission for a customer in West Palm Beach, Florida.

We incorporated more species and sources of reclaimed and salvaged woods from the Ventana Upcycle Partners than any Ventana board to date.

Sources include: Santa Cruz Guitar Company, Soif Wine Bar & Merchants, UC Santa Cruz, Jonah Lepak, Potaito Boards, Mission Bell Reclaimed, Uncommon Brewers, Knotty Hole Woodworks, Johnny Rice Surfboards, Alibi Interiors, Sea Level Woodworks, Brown Felicetta Designs, Jeremiah Kille, Locus Surfboards, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, an old hot tub, and beach driftwood.
Wood species include: spruce, Indian rosewood, Brazilian rosewood, cocobolo, ebony, mahogany, Honduras mahogany, black walnut, wenge, maple, bay laurel, padauk, bubinga, granadillo, claro walnut, white oak, curly redwood, poplar, teak, black acacia, redwood, and Doug fir!

The leash and vent plugs are made of salvaged walnut sourced by Mission Bell Reclaimed.
The fin is made of birdseye redwood from a piece of burl driftwood found in Big Sur, California.
The tail block is made of black acacia from a fallen tree in Corralitos, California.

Small holes in the wood were filled with Sulphur powder from Kawah Ijen volcano on the island of Java in Bali, Indonesia using a secret Ventana process.

The rails are made of U.S grown oak cork, and it was glassed with Entropy Super Sap Bio Resin and 4oz. fiberglass cloth (two layers on top and one on bottom) from Aerialite Surf. As with all Ventana boards, the interior is glassed and sealed, as well.

Made in Santa Cruz, California by master craftsman Martijn Stiphout.
