Spyder Surfboard “Fireball Fish” Vlog with Jason Shibata & Noel Salas Ep. 14

In this Vlog we catch up with Jason Shibata from HI. Jason talks about surfing his “Fireball Fish” in all different types of waves.

So much fun to listen to Jason talk about his experience surfing the Fireball Fish. Shibata rips and spending time with him was priceless for me so I thought you would enjoy it too!

Dented says:

Great review! Good to see guest (pro) riders. Thanks Noel, now I have to get another board and hide it from the wife…

James Krejcarek says:

Awesome video! Thanks for bringing Jason on to have this discussion. Hopefully you can do some more of this. I know that you focus on larger production models, but getting into the design and customization of these boards is very helpful for me as I’m looking to have the best board go help me ‘progress my surfing’ as jason says in the video.

David Gough says:

board design has too many variables to ever “plateau”, thank goodness.. several species of board for every niche.. making the fringy stuff reliable has been the portal to progress.. good to see the show always branching out

Vaughan Heilman says:

I really like this new component of your videos where you have someone else add their perspective to your experience. Gives me a better ability to evaluate the board when seeing through someone else’s eyes, too. Great work!

ncsam 000000 says:

Do you think that those cut outs for the channels make a weak point in the board? Great review man keep it up

ragdollled says:

Interested in the concepts of the wide point placements. Shibata’s wide pt is behind the board’s center point. Is that a benefit for short surfers? I’m only an inch taller but 8+ lbs heavier and found my volume sweet spot to be around 28 liters on all my boards and for most conds.

Troy Robinson says:

Would have been great for you guys to do a swap to try each others boards and then comment about it as well. Like the look of this design. i have previously experimented buy putting a curved step behind the back fin in some older 6.1 boards buy using sander polisher and it really felt more looser and freed it up a bit. Regards

Kahele Koki says:

Please make a surf video with you and Jason riding both boards and go over the differences

Blade Runner says:

Really enjoyed this review. Looks like an interesting board to ride and a ton of fun. Would probably work ok on our softer UK beach breaks.

Craig Steven says:

Charles Hawk says:

Is the moonbeam review almost finished!?

prozacRules says:

Thanks Shibs for sharing your thoughts on this board. It really adds a whole other dimension to an already awesome show! Keep up the good work Noel!
