Hello All,

I recently purchased a Dream Catcher and absolutely love it. I looked for several months for reviews online and couldn’t find much helpful feedback so i decided to chime in.

This board is a wave catching machine and does exactly what its advertised to do. While it is not great in the small stuff or for a vertical style of surfing, it really does excel in larger barreling waves. It allows me to catch the wave a second or two earlier and has no problem out running the lip on late/steep takeoffs. If your looking for a board to enhance your barrel riding this is the one.

I recently took this board to PR and had it in some solid well overhead surf. I did not feel under gunned at all. It paddled great at the points/in currents, and had no issues making sections or catching waves in large crowds.

If you do decide to purchase this board go by the chart for sizing as recommended by the shaper. I would not try to sneak in extra volume for more paddle power or it will feel like too much board. I went with a 5’8 and probably could have gone an inch shorter. (im 5’9 and 160ish)….All in all I love the board and would recommend it to anyone looking for a barrel machine.

I have an al merrick flyer which works great in small waves but I would like to try and step up my game and go bigger, would this board be good for a novice surfer like me?
